Shipping paper basic description
Basic Description of Hazardous Materials

Regardless of the form used, all shipping papers must provide the same basic descriptive information. The information must appear on the shipping paper in the proper sequence:

1. ID number
2. Proper shipping name (PSN)
3. Hazard class or division number
4. Packing group

Note: For domestic shipments the alternative sequence of PSN, Hazard Class or division, ID number, and Packing Group may be used only until January 1, 2013.
